Slow Loris

p style=\”text-align: center;\”>The Javan Slow Loris (Nycticebus javanicus), known as kukang jawa among the locals, is a nocturnal species native to the western and central Java island, Indonesia. It was considered a subspecies of the Sunda loris (Nycticebus coucang) but after some further research on morphology and genetics in 2000s, the primate received a promotion in its status as a full species. The population of the Javan slow loris has been in sharp decline as a result of the poaching activities for years. It is one of the most primates that have been traded in large demands. • Tearsheets (2011)
