Purifying the Spirits

Members of a Bali clan doing a ritual ceremony called nyegara gunung (or majar-ajar to the sea and the mountain), which served as a way to bring the late family members to the final destination: the heaven. The nyegara, held after ngaben, is to accompany the departed spirits—in march and series of prayers—to the temples on the mountain and to the one near the sea. There, the spirits are purified.
